Since moving to Vancouver a few years ago, Laura Soltis has been establishing herself as one of the city's premier actors. She has had recurring guest star roles on such television series as Global TV's The Guard, WB Network's Black Sash and on CTV's Godiva. Additional TV series credits include guest-starring roles on Masters of Science Fiction, The Collector, The Chris Isaak Show and Cold Squad. Soltis has also starred in numerous television movies including The Secret Lives of Second Wives, Home By Christmas, Double Cross, and The Party Never Stops: Diary of a Binge Drinker. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Laura Soltis comes from a performing family; her choreographer mother founded her own ballet company while her grandfather was in the circus. Following her youthful passion as a ballet dancer, Soltis saw her career launched when she captured the lead dance role of "Eliza" in The King and I. At 19, she joined the cast of Evita at the Shubert Theatre and then traveled nationally with the show for two years. Her subsequent theatrical career took her to Los Angeles, where she landed such roles as "Lola" in Damn Yankees, "Sheila" in A Chorus Line, and "Dorothy" in Nite Club Confidential. It was thanks to her tour with Ragtime that Soltis came to Vancouver and decided to stay.
