Andrew Carr was born the youngest of 10 children in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Like every average kid he grew up playing sports and participating in school activities.

He managed to attain a Fine Arts Degree at the University of Saskatchewan and immediately began a career as a stand-up comedian. He spent a dozen years performing stand-up comedy across Canada and the U.S., cutting his teeth performing in clubs and colleges before making numerous appearances on television and at events such as the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and the Vancouver Comedy Festival.

In 2003 Carr got the opportunity to become a writer for the CTV hit comedy show Corner Gas. He continued to write until the show finished in 2008, garnering numerous writing awards in the process. He is now in his second season as Supervising Producer of HICCUPS. Carr currently makes his home with his wife and two children in Greater Vancouver where he continues to write and develop network television shows for CTV, The Comedy Network and CBC.
